Used together, the sauna and jacuzzi form one of the most complete wellness rituals imaginable. The dry heat of the sauna prepares the body; the buoyant warmth of the jacuzzi completes the release.
Step One – The Sauna
Spend 8–15 minutes in the sauna to raise core temperature and open pores. This activates circulation, flushes toxins, and softens muscles. The transition from dry air to water should be calm and deliberate.
Step Two – The Jacuzzi
After a brief cooling period, (taking a cooling shower or pool, for at least as long as you were in the sauna eg 15mins) immerse yourself in the jacuzzi. The gentle hydro-massage of the bubbles soothes freshly warmed muscles and stabilises blood flow. It’s the perfect counterbalance to the dry intensity of the sauna. Spend no more than 15 mins in the hot tub/jacuzzi, as you can overheat or get light-headed.
Cool down again afterwards. Do not go straight from the jacuzzi, back into the sauna: You will again overheat and become lightheaded, over-stressing your body. Cool down again for at least 15-20 mins with a cool shower.
Why It Works
- Combines detoxification with hydration.
- Improves vascular elasticity and oxygen exchange.
- Reduces stress and enhances sleep quality.
At Emerald Spa, alternating between sauna and jacuzzi is an art form—heat for purification, water for renewal. Together they bring the body into quiet harmony.
